Echinacea (aka Coneflowers) are prolific and showy spring and summer flowers that reproduce from seed. Visually they are striking blooms, and particularly in strong colors such as this very vivid almost-red shade of orange. I zoomed in on this particular bloom because of its near-perfect seed head center with traces of pollen evident here and there. Each of these seed spikes is capable of producing an entire new plant, provided that finches don't eat all the seeds from dried-out blooms before they have an opportunity to hit the ground.
